Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) today announced the appointment of Wallace Holmes, as Director: Finance, with effect from 1 June 2002. Holmes replaces Justin Williamson, who has left the company.
Holmes,CA(SA), spent 13 years with the Tiger Brands Group and was Chief Financial Officer for that Group before joining ACSA. His responsibilities at ACSA will include the total finance function, corporate services including information technology.
I am obviously excited with the appointment.I simultaneously feel challenged given ACSA's objectives of growth and aspiring to world-class standards in all spheres of its business," Holmes said.
He added that he believed his past experience in major corporate environments would enable him to add value and make a meaningful difference in a young and dynamic company such as ACSA.
Monhla Hlahla, ACSA chief executive officer, said: "We gladly welcome Wallace Holmes to the ACSA family. We firmly believe that he will make a meaningful contribution to ACSA going forward."
Holmes served his accountancy articles at Coopers and Lybrand, leaving them as an Audit Manager 12 years later to join The Boots Co as Financial Manager. In 1983, he joined Alpha Limited where he spent five years before joining the Tiger Brands Group.
