An estimated 60 members of the South African Transport and Allied Workers Union entered the international arrivals terminal at O.R. Tambo International Airport this evening as part of ongoing industrial action against Equity Aviation Services.
The protesters temporarily blocked traffic on the lower airport road and congested the arrivals terminals. Traffic flow was quickly restored and protesters began dispersing at around 19h45 after a memorandum was handed to Equity Aviation Services.
No flights were delayed as a result of the protest.
