Cape Town International Airport is proud to announce that its Assistant General Manager, Mr Mark Maclean has received the regional manager award from the Black Business Forum. Mr Maclean received this award at the prestigious gala dinner held at the Cape Sun Hotel. The Manager of the Year is the Black Management Forum’s premier annual event to showcase managerial excellence and recognise amongst other, the winner and finalists contribution to social transformation in their respective organisations. This year the esteemed event coincided with the BMF Western Cape 25th anniversary celebration.
Mr Maclean joined the company in 2006 where he led the Maintenance and Engineering (M&E) environment as the M&E manager and consistently delivered outstanding results in the M&E environment of which his effective management of talent and stringent budgets were notable. During his tenure he lead of the airport’s major runway rehabilitation project He played a critical role when the airport was being transformed and led the process of changing the airport systems from a largely manual to the fully automated system it is today. In preparation for the Soccer World Cup Maclean ensured that the airport was geared for any eventuality from a maintenance perspective. Mr Maclean is registered as a Professional Engineer he has concluded a number of business and leadership courses and most recently concluded an Executive Development Programme with the Henley Business School. Mr Maclean has displayed true qualities of a leader in the years that he has worked at the airport and deserves this award, said Deon Cloete, General Manager at Cape Town International Airport.
