KSIA FEATHER AWARDS GOES GREEN
King Shaka International Airport acknowledged service excellence to our stakeholders at the 2011 Feather Awards on 23rd November where the theme was, “Go Green” in line with UN COP17 Climate Change Conference.
The event was well attended with over 220 people including ACSA corporate guests and Acting MD Bongani Maseko who welcomed guests to the event. Stakeholders were very excited with the green theme and it was obvious that everyone was behind the airport in the preparation of the COP17 event.
While it was a celebration of service excellence we also wanted our guests to really have fun and we had the privlegdge to be entertained by well known comedian who was the MC, Muthu Murugan and all the guests were left rolling with laughter when famous comedian Arron McKilroy took the stage as and performed as two different characters.
The winners took home the prestigious ACSA Feather Award Certificate and a trophy which they can use to market their company and organization.

The TOP GUN award that is issued by the AOC/AOA went to a very dedicated ACSA individual who has maintained her focus in partnering with stakeholders and government agencies. That person was Claudia Daniels, Manager Security for KSIA. Claudia was almost in tears as she received this highly respected award. Well done Claudia!!!
QASA issued well deserved certificates to the 3 handling companies that go the extra mile for people with disabilities who use our airport. It is a gesture by QASA that is acknowledged annually at the Durban feather awards for the past 10years.
Guests were also very excited with their gifts which were indigenous plants in a pot which they could take as part of our contribution to the environment and COP17. Guests were asked to plant the tree at home or at work.
It was indeed a great day for the winners. The KSIA team would like to thank the stakeholders that sponsored gifts for the lucky draws and for those who attended. We look forward to investing in new relationships in 2012 and creating the KSIA family environment at our airport.
