Durban-President Jacob Zuma today officially opened the newly built King Shaka International Airport, marking exactly a week (Saturday, 1 May 2010) the facility started all commercial operations.
Addressing the media, a proud King Shaka International Airport’s General Manager, Terence Delomoney, said, “The successful move to King Shaka International Airport is a huge accomplishment, not only for the airport community here, but the country at large,
Due to bad weather conditions in and around Johannesburg several flights have been delayed.
It is estimated that delays will run up to around 12pm this afternoon; this is dependent on weather conditions.
Durban – South Africa’s third biggest airport, King Shaka International Airport, situated at La Mercy, some 35km north of Durban, opened for commercial airline operations today.
