Johannesburg, 30 August 2013 – As Airports Company South Africa celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, the company has been able to look back with pride at its achievements over this period. The transformation from the basic airports inherited from the Department of Transport on 23 July 1993 to today’s multiple award-winning facilities has not been confined only to infrastructure and airport management, but has extended emphatically into the business sphere. From whence it came, the company can now be compared to any modern, profitable business: ‘From State to state-of-the-art’.
Following the industrial action by union members on Monday, 27 August 2013, Airports Company South Africa advises passengers to contact their airlines directly to check if there are any changes in their flight information.
Airports Company South Africa, Cape Town International Airport (ACSA CTIA) prides itself in giving back to communities. The airport handed over R1.5 million today to seven flagship beneficiaries. These beneficiaries are selected according to the company’s strategic Corporate Social Investment pillars.
